Lidija Dimkovska from North Macedonia is a poet, novelist, and translator from Romanian and Slovenian into Macedonian. She lives in Ljubljana, Slovenia. She has published seven collections of poetry, four novels, one American diary, one short stories collection, and edited four anthologies. Her awards in poetry include the European Prize for Literature „Petru Krdu“ (2016), the Slovenian Prize „The Cup of Immortality“ (2020), the Macedonian/Albanian Prize „Naim Frasheri“ (2020) and the Macedonian Prize „Brothers Miladinov“ for the best Macedonian poetry book (2021). Her novels Hidden Camera (2004) and A Spare Life (2012) won the Macedonian Writers’ Association’s Fiction of the Year Award and the 2013 European Union Prize for Literature respectively. She was also shortlisted for the German literary prize »Brucke Berlin« (2013), the European Poet of Freedom (2016), and the Slovenian PEN’s MIRA Prize (2022).
