Founded by poet Bei Dao in Hong Kong in 2009, International Poetry Nights in Hong Kong (IPNHK) enters its seventeenth year in 2026. Organized by the Hong Kong Poetry Festival Foundation, IPNHK has grown into an international platform connecting poetry, translation, publishing and cultural exchange across languages and regions.
Under the theme “That the Stone May Bloom,” IPNHK 2026 brings together fifteen poets from different countries, regions and linguistic backgrounds, alongside musicians, artists and scholars. From 20 to 30 November 2026, the festival will travel from CTG Aranya Jiulonghu in Guangzhou, to Spring Woods in Heyuan, before returning to Hong Kong, where IPNHK was founded.
This year’s theme returns to a fundamental question at the heart of poetry: where does a poem begin to grow? Poetry is not simply an arrangement of words; it emerges from language, memory, lived experience and the inner life of the individual. Through readings, dialogues, translation, publishing and artistic encounters, poets of different languages and experiences will meet and open new possibilities for poetry, life and language.
香港國際詩歌之夜（International Poetry Nights in Hong Kong，IPNHK）由詩人北島於2009年在香港創辦，今年走入第17年，由香港詩歌節基金會主辦。十七年來，香港國際詩歌之夜持續連結來自世界不同國家、地區及語言背景的詩人，推動國際詩歌交流、文學翻譯、出版及公共文化活動。
2026年，香港國際詩歌之夜以「讓石頭開花」為主題，邀請15位來自不同國家、地區及語言背景的詩人，以及音樂家、藝術家與學者相聚。11月20日至30日，詩歌之旅將由中旅·阿那亞·九龍湖（廣州）啟程，經由春沐源小鎮（河源），最終回到香港。
今年的主題重新向詩歌提出一個最根本的問題：一首詩，究竟從哪裡生長出來？詩歌並不只是語言的組合，它與記憶、生命經驗以及一個人的內在世界緊密相連。來自不同語言與生活經驗的詩人，將在朗誦、對話、翻譯、出版與藝術交流中相遇，共同打開關於詩歌、生命與語言的更多可能。
