Afrizal Malna｜阿弗里扎爾·馬爾納
Afrizal Malna was born in Jakarta in 1957. He is a poet who has created many poetry performances through digital media, which can be seen on his YouTube channel. One of them is the “teater masker” series that he created during the pandemic. Some others are posted through his Instagram account. His latest books include Dan Medan Pasca-Seni (Jogyakarta: Diva Press, 2023); Tiket Masuk Bioskop Autobiografi (JBS, Yogyakarta 2023); Revisi Telur Dadar Mentah (Jogyakarta: Diva Press, 2024); Document Shredding Museum, translated by Daniel Owen (New York: World Poetry Books, 2024); Anxiety Myths, translated by Andy Fuller (Jakarta: Yayasan Lontar, 2013). His poetry collection My Friends from the Roof of Language (2008) was chosen as Best Literary Work of 2009 by the Indonesian news magazine Tempo. He is a member of the Jakarta Academy (2020-2025). He has curated and participated in numerous poetry festivals and performances, including the Bad Poetry Festival, Yogyakarta Cultural Festival, and Djakarta Theater Platform International through Jakarta Arts Council.
