
Lü De’an (b. 1960) is a poet and painter. In the early 1980s he founded the poetry society “Friday” with fellow poets and painters, and he became a key member of the famous Nanjing poetry society “Them,” publishing the poetry collections Paper Snake, The Other Half of Life, and North and South during this period. In 1992 he moved to New York City, where he made a living through painting and wrote the long poem “Mankato.” In 1994 he won the first Them Literary Award, and returned to his hometown Beifeng, Fujian, in the same year, to build a home in the mountains and write the long poem “Right Place.” He has also devoted significant time to painting and drama, participating in the Beijing Mousen Drama Workshop. In 1998 he went abroad again, publishing the collections Stubborn Stone, and, in 2011, Right Place. Also in 2011 in Yunnan he received the Gaoligong Poetry Chairman’s Award, and in 2014 won the October Literature Award and the Tianwen Poetry Award. In 2013, he established a studio in Beijing to focus on painting. In 2016, he published Pieces of Clay in Two Colors, and in 2018 he published the essay collection On the Mountain: Writing Poetry, Painting, Building Houses. In 2019 he received the Dong Dangzi Poetry Award, and in 2020 he won the Dayi Literature Biennial Poetry Award. In 2020 he also published Evening Rain: Lü De’an’s Selected Poems from Forty Years. He won the Southern Literature Festival Poet Award and the Fifth Yuan Kejia Poetry Award in 2021.
呂德安,1960年出生。詩人,畫家。八十年代初期與詩人畫家同仁創建詩社《星期五》,並成為南京著名詩社《他們》的主要成員,此間著個人詩集《紙蛇》,《另一半生命》,詩集《南方以北》。1992年旅居美國紐約,以畫謀生,創作長詩《曼凱托》。1994年獲首屆《他們》文學獎,同年國在福建家鄉北峰築居山中,創作長詩《適得其所》,同時大量時間投入繪畫創作並參與北京牟森戲劇車間從事戲劇實踐。1998年再度出國。這期間出版詩集《頑石》,2011年出版詩集《適得其所》。同年獲「雲南高黎貢詩歌主席獎」。2014年獲《十月》文學獎。2014年獲「天問詩歌獎」。2013年進駐北京工作室專業從事繪畫創作。2016出版詩集《兩塊顏色不同的泥土》2018出版隨筆集《在山上,寫詩,畫畫,蓋房子》。2019年獲東蕩子詩歌獎。2020年獲大益文學雙年度詩歌獎。2020年出版《傍晚降雨——呂德安四十年詩選》2021年獲「南方文學盛典詩人獎」和第五屆「袁可嘉詩歌獎」。
